What is a DSP?

A direct support professional (DSP), is a person who works directly with an individual(s), providing services that enhance the individual’s quality of life and independence.


How do I become a DSP?

DSPs can work either for an agency or independently. For a list of agency providers in your area, please contact NOWAC. To become an independent provider, you have to become certified through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. For more information, click here.
